The Aging and Disability Business Institute’s Contracting Toolkit is a collection of resources designed to help aging and disability community-based organizations (CBOs) prepare for contracting work by exploring and explaining the various aspects of CBO—health care contracts. Two new additions to the Contracting Toolkit, the Guide to Insurance in Contracting and Model Contracts for Community-Based Integrated Care Networks, add more important information that will help your CBO navigate the contracting landscape.
The Guide to Insurance in Contracting provides general guidance on a variety of insurance options for CBOs seeking or engaged in contracting work with health care entities. This new resource guide helps get you started with the basics on health care contracting insurance.
Model Contracts for Community-Based Integrated Care Networks includes a set of three sample contracts and accompanying annotations that help illustrate key points of how formal agreements take shape between CBOs, networks, providers and payers. Read the annotations and download the model contracts to learn about the specific provisions of various contracting arrangements.
As always, the Business Institute recommends that CBOs entering into contracts with health care entities seek the advice of qualified legal professionals to ensure contracts and insurance coverage meet the needs of your CBO and comply with state laws.
