New Policy Spotlight: Older Americans Act Research, Demonstration and Evaluation Center

Last year, the passage of the Supporting Older Americans Act of 2020, which reauthorized the Older Americans Act, was a major win for the Aging Network. A provision in the legislation approved the creation of the Research, Demonstration and Evaluation Center (the Center) for the Aging Network.

The newly released Policy Spotlight: Aging Network Opportunities in the New Older Americans Act Research, Demonstration and Evaluation Center, developed in partnership with the National Council on Aging, takes a deep dive into the establishment of the Center, what it means for the Aging Network and future opportunities for the Center to support the modernization and growth of aging services. A robust research, demonstration and evaluation body can help the Aging Network demonstrate outcomes of innovative practices and help them scale to serve a rapidly growing older adult population, yet there is work to be done to ensure the Center can serve its purpose.
