The National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) has re-envisioned the in-person annual spring policy event to meet this critical moment. Instead of you coming to DC, n4a has decided to bring DC to you with the new virtual Aging Policy and Advocacy Summit. Held April 27-29, the Summit will have something for everyone, from new advocates to tested veterans.

Here’s a tentative schedule:

Day 1: Policy and Advocacy Crash Course | Tuesday, April 27
If you’ve always wanted an Aging Policy 101 session or more details on advocacy best practices, the new Summit will deliver. Need an easy way to educate your advisory board members on federal policy and advocacy? We’ve got it. Day 1, the “crash course” day, is intentionally designed for newer AAA directors, policy-shy aging professionals, senior staff and your advisory board members!

Day 2: Aging Policy Deep Dive | Wednesday, April 28
If you love n4a’s annual Aging Policy Briefing and Hill Day and we usually see you in DC, you’ll enjoy the cross-cutting and in-depth federal policy sessions that help connect the dots to your state and local efforts. The Aging Policy Deep Dive will feature discussions of key issues from respected policy experts and officials. We’ll also provide guidance on how to arrange virtual visits with your Members of Congress the week of the Summit, so you can begin applying the advocacy lessons and new policy knowledge right away.

Day 3: Medicare Opportunities for AAAs | Thursday, April 29
Can’t get enough information on integrated care opportunities and policies and how they affect your agency? On Day 3, n4a’s Aging and Disability Business Institute will host an intensive on Medicare payment opportunities for your AAA.
