Join Meals on Wheels America on Thursday, February 16 at 3:30 p.m. ET to learn more about the newly released Hunger in Older Adults report that seeks to increase the understanding of a variety of food assistance programs that can work in combination to more effectively address the needs of vulnerable seniors. Presenters will highlight the ways this first-of-its-kind report examines national food assistance programs, synthesizes publicly available research, examines ways to tackle food insecurity, illuminates challenges and opportunities, and recommends actions for leaders and advocates. Equipped with this report, you’ll be able to more aggressively and effectively serve vulnerable older adults in your community.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the physical, functional and social determinants that place older adults at risk of hunger and food insecurity;
• Learn about the nutrition assistance, advocacy, health and social organizations that address the nutrition and food insecurity concerns of older adults; and
• Identify a range of strategies and tactics that local, state and national leaders and advocates can use at to address service gaps, maintain current programs and develop new or better interventions.
